After a Pact to Marry the Imperial Princess

Recently, a news story made the interstellar headlines: the First Imperial Princess of the Roland Empire had married the adopted daughter of the leader of the Redblood Alliance. As everyone knew, the Roland Empire and the Redblood Alliance had been enemies for years, with frequent clashes between them. In recent years, no one knew what agreement the two sides had reached, but they had put their grievances aside, made peace, and formed an alliance. To secure their alliance, the two leaders had reached a mutual agreement: their families would intermarry. Lin Ling, the adopted daughter of the Redblood Alliance's leader, was naturally unwilling when she first heard the decision. After all, during those years of hostility, she had clashed with the Roland Empire's First Imperial Princess, Olivia, many times. She saw Olivia as a rival and naturally disliked her. But a political marriage was no trivial matter. Lin Ling had no room to object and could only agree. As political figures, their every move was watched closely by the public. To set an example for the people, the two had no choice but to act like a loving couple in public, dining together and going to the theater together. To Lin Ling's astonishment, Olivia, who seemed so proper and serious, was an exceptionally good actress. She played the part of a lover with ease, treating Lin Ling with the utmost tenderness, as if she really were head over heels for her. Once, unable to take it anymore, Lin Ling said, "All right, you can stop acting now. There's no one here." Olivia's smile stiffened ever so slightly. She approached Lin Ling step by step, exuding an inexplicable sense of danger. "Acting? So that's what you've thought all along. How heartbreaking..." Actually, she'd fallen in love with Lin Ling the very first time they met. Theme: Love takes constant effort and adjustment
