I originally planned to write about Lu Mingfei gender-swapped, or someone transmigrating into Lu Mingfei. But while reading Dragon Raja romance stories on Lofter, I came across a line: "Lu Mingfei is an ordinary loser, nothing special about him." So the heroine in that romance story didn't pursue Lu Mingfei and treated him as an ordinary friend. Because Lu Mingfei had no special qualities or worth, she naturally saw him as just another passerby. But I think Lu Mingfei is wonderful. He's an ordinary loser, but he'll risk his life to save his friends. He has no cheat abilities, so all he can do is fight with everything he's got.
I can't bring myself to write Lu Mingfei as a girl or have someone transmigrate into him, because it feels like that would erase what little presence the ordinary Lu Mingfei already has. A living, breathing Lu Mingfei would be displaced by an outsider who takes his place and rises to glory. Everyone would love "Lu Mingfei," and everyone would forget the real Lu Mingfei.
So I've decided not to write a gender-swapped Lu Mingfei story after all. Instead, let's have players from a Fourth Cataclysm take over the Dragon Clan! Though I might write it pretty slowly.
