This is the story of two friends who planned to coast into retirement together, but when their plan was derailed, they set out to make their dreams come true on their own (not really).

Childhood friends

If we meet again someday, we can warm wine and talk about the Milky Way. But would it mean anything?

Years of hardship were all for one moment of reunion. Their old obsession has turned into a meaningless pursuit, and the long-awaited reunion they hoped for seems only to free them from their shackles. It is both an ending and a beginning. Why not stop mechanically existing without purpose and begin a new journey? Picking up their youthful dream of roaming the martial world, wandering the land, robbing the rich to help the poor, and upholding justice: what could be wrong with that? But after years of emptiness, can someone really cast off their shackles and keep walking through the world? ...Does it matter?

It seems the only thing that has remained unchanged is this vast land and boundless sky. Those who come and go are but fleeting visitors in the universe, a drop in the ocean. What significance do one person's joys and sorrows, or the rise and fall of a dynasty, hold? Even if the whole world ran red with blood and corpses covered the land, so what?
