Making Games to Transform the Cultivation World

Lu Yuan transmigrates into a secret realm. Secret realms are mysterious lifeforms of unknown origin. They feed on spiritual energy but cannot solidify it on their own, so they often use spirit herbs, spirit beasts, magical treasures, and inheritances as bait to lure in prey, namely cultivators. Then they kill them with poison, strange beasts, illusions, and other methods before devouring the spiritual energy within their bodies... After reading a series of instructional texts in the inheritance, including “Two or Three Ways to Rip Off Cultivators” and “My Thoughts on Sowing Discord Among Cultivators,” Lu Yuan looked disgusted. What kind of crude scheme was this, squeezing the marks dry and uprooting the whole crop? It was completely unsustainable. Besides, the more dangerous a secret realm was, the more it drove cultivators to strip it bare. It was practically a case of inflicting a thousand casualties on the enemy while suffering eight hundred of your own. If he wanted spiritual energy, that was easy. He had ten thousand fun ways to get cultivators to spend willingly. * At some point, a strange secret realm appeared in the cultivation world. When exploring ordinary secret realms, cultivators gathered spirit herbs, killed strange beasts, explored ancient tombs, searched for treasure vaults, seized opportunities, risked their lives, and watched their backs around one another... But in this strange secret realm: “Fellow Daoists, add me as a friend and give me a hand with a few clicks. I’ll pay one low-grade spirit stone.” “This damn secret realm is a scam! I’ve poured thousands of spirit stones into the Divine Pool and still haven’t drawn a five-star!” “Stealing my crops without watering them, you insolent brat! Get back here...” “Senior brothers, junior brothers, grand-nephews, and great-grand-nephews! At midnight tonight, if you’re my brothers, come play in the Greedy Secret Realm with me and help me take down those sword cultivators!” * The secret realms soon noticed that fewer and fewer cultivators were visiting. Instead, an endless stream of strange puppets kept showing up. They called themselves players and talked about taking quests and fighting bosses. They were always forming parties and calling for reinforcements, causing trouble everywhere and driving the secret realms to distraction. Lu Yuan: Sorry about that. There are too many players, so I borrowed your territory to open a dungeon. Want to be one of my servers? The benefits are excellent. The secret realms: ...There’s no way to live like this! ***If you see a baffling author comment in the comments section, it’s an interactive minigame included with this story. The game starts in Chapter 106. Theme: This is actually a story about quitting games.
