Why Go to Tibet
Tibet is not a cheap travel destination. On this trip, we only visited the areas around Lhasa, Nyingchi, and Shigatse. The journey took nine days, and each person spent around ten thousand yuan. Some people say that for that price, you could travel abroad. But Tibet is special because it isn't somewhere you can go just because you want to. Even if you rule the world, even if you possess all the wealth under Heaven, you may still be unable to cross the high threshold nature has raised around Tibet. That's why I've always listed Tibet as a place I must visit in my lifetime, and why I wanted to go at least once while I was still in good health.
