A murder took place on Lander Street yesterday.
A teenage boy wielding a knife hacked his alcoholic father bloody in their home. The victim did not die immediately. They say the middle-aged man, wounded by multiple stabs, kept his eyes open until all his blood had drained away.
No one knows if he tried to call for help along the way, but it would have been pointless. His son sat beside him the whole time, staring at him. When the police arrived in the early hours after a neighbor called, the boy with the knife was still wide awake, staring at the body on the floor.
