The new emperor, Wu Che, and the Empress Dowager, Qin Duo, met for the first time in the imperial garden.
Wu Che: "So you want to be empress that badly? My father is over sixty. Can he still satisfy you?"
Qin Duo merely raised her eyes slightly. "Have you said enough?" Her words cut off his hysterical laughter.
The springtime beauty of the garden could not conceal the scent of gunpowder.
"Pay your respects."
With dozens of attendants and maids watching, Wu Che could only grit his teeth and say, "Your son pays his respects to the Empress Dowager."
