[Harry Potter] The Chosen One Does as He Pleases

For my own amusement, written to feed myself. Many chapters at the beginning borrow heavily from the original work.

The plot changes, there are alternate interpretations, and there are original plotlines. No original characters.

No character bashing. I treat the Lions and Snakes equally. Harry-centered, with Draco/Harry as the main pairing.

Harry Potter's life began with a prophecy: "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month ends... The Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will possess a power the Dark Lord knows not... Either must die at the hand of the other, for neither can live while the other survives..."

Because of this, he lost his parents... But after that, he gained so, so much.

Please note before reading:

1. Pairings: Draco/Harry, Ron/Hermione; Snape and Harry have a father-son relationship; Sirius survives.

2. Harry is in Slytherin; characters may be out of character; many personal headcanons.

3. My take on this alternate interpretation: The Chosen One was born with immense Dark Magic powers, far beyond Voldemort's.

4. My take on this alternate interpretation: Harry has many traits that differ from canon, and is rather Gary Stu-like. He differs from the original Harry.

Theme: What we lose will always return to us, though sometimes not in the way we would wish.
