[Known facts] The Book is Alice, Yokohama is Mori Ogai, and there are other cities that can take human form, such as Tokyo, Osaka, and cities in other countries.

Blurb:

Even foxes that are a thousand years old can cultivate themselves into human form, so surely cities with long histories can do the same! But they had been waging endless wars for ages. Just when they finally chose to make peace and return to their respective lands to govern their own districts, the world's treasure, the Book, showed up to cause trouble again.

They say whoever obtains the Book obtains the world, and tensions once again began to smolder between them. The Book chose to land in Yokohama, a city unable to take human form because of a devastating disaster.

So the Book gave Yokohama the ability to take human form and named it Mori Ogai.

And everything began here.

Nonhumans don't understand humans, and they can never become truly human.

The characters may be out of character. Mori Ogai's understanding of humanity changes gradually.

Alice is the Book and carries the memories of every world.

"I hate these humans, so I'd be very grateful if you could help me get rid of them." Mori Ogai said softly, looking at the filthy black-haired boy in front of him. Alice, eavesdropping nearby, wore an inscrutable expression.

He didn't like humans, especially those who had hurt him in the past.

"Humans really are pitiful creatures."

Mori Ogai silently watched the child clutching the body, long since gone cold, and sobbing. He turned his head away, unable to look at the sight any longer, and quickened his pace as he left. How pitiful, to have killed with his own hands the only being he had left in this world.

[Three]

"The Three-Department Concept, to protect... Yokohama?"

Mori Ogai stared at the man in front of him in disbelief. He had never imagined that someone could truly love Yokohama, that someone could regard this place as home.

[Four]

"You shouldn't have done that, Mori Ogai."

The Book looked at Mori Ogai without expression. Its undisguised murderous intent filled the air as it said, "This is the path you were meant to take. You can't escape it."

[Five]

"I was never supposed to exist, so it doesn't matter if I disappear now, right? Besides, Alice... Book, the one reflected in your eyes isn't me, but another Mori Ogai."

"Wait..."

As the sun set, that figure gradually became light and vanished.

What does not exist will eventually disappear.
