Bungo Stray Dogs: The Vow of Desire

Knock, knock. I'm not very satisfied with the chapters I've written so far, and there are a few aspects of the setting and plot that have been difficult to handle. On top of that, reanalyzing the 16-year-old timeline and the Beast timeline has given me a new understanding of Dazai, so I'll most likely put this story on hold for now and decide what to do after I graduate. Sorry to all the sweethearts who were looking forward to this story.

What is the abyss?

“The abyss is the gods' salvation, an emotion impossible to fathom, and helplessness as you fall.”

What is love?

“Love is the glimmer of hope when he reaches out his hand to me, the joy filling my heart when he calls my name, and my insatiable desire when he touches me.”

What does it mean for a moth to fly into the flame?

“It is all the love I have for him, my relentless pursuit of him as we plunge into the abyss together. Even knowing the odds are vanishingly small, I still want ‘me’ and ‘him’ to become lovers.”

This entire story is heavy angst with no sweetness. Of course, you can try licking the sugar off the tip of a knife. You'll have to find it yourself.

This story is unfinished, and updates will truly depend on when I feel like it. Every time I put myself in the characters' shoes to write, it's hard to get back out, so updates will be very, very slow, with probably long gaps between them.
