The Grave Robbers' Chronicles: The Heavenly Net

I'm revising this novel. It's also my first time writing something this long, and the framework still needs plenty of work, so it may take a while. Feel free to let it build up before reading. The changes may be big, or they may not be; mostly, I want to flesh out some of the other characters' stories.

The revisions won't change my original intention. I just want the characters to feel more real and human.

5. I have always believed that the original novel is the one and only. What I've written is merely a small parallel universe within the The Grave Robbers' Chronicles universe. Please don't conflate it with the original.

6. This story is about a steadfast faith, not anything else. Please don't overinterpret it.

Synopsis:

In 1987, Zhang Dafuye's granddaughter was born. After her birth, Zhang Dafuya named her Zhang Xi. The surname Zhang is written with the bow radical, while Xi is written with the sun radical alongside the character for Wang Xizhi's Xi.

Although she was protected from birth, her training was no less rigorous than that of an ordinary member of the Zhang family.

She met Zhang Qiling when she was four. To Zhang Xi, Zhang Qiling was a god, her salvation, someone she would shield at any cost, someone she would resolutely follow even when she knew how it would end.

The year she officially made her debut at eighteen was the year Zhang Qiling entered the Bronze Gate. Before going in, he made a special trip to Changsha to find her. He hoped she would take his place and look after Wu Xie.

To help destroy the Wang family, she set out from Rio de Janeiro and met a man who had once been arrogant and untamed, but had become a puppet of ambition and power.

Later, she finally helped Wu Xie destroy the Wang family, but a new wave of problems soon arose: "the underground palace of the Blood-Induced Immortality Method," "the Zhang family's traitor," "the Fu family's conspiracy," "entering the Bronze Gate again," "the ancient Di people," "the possibly nonexistent dragon vein," "Mount Chiqiu, where Fuxi was born," "Xingtian, who returned from the dead and fought the Yellow Emperor again," and "the return of old acquaintances." All of it sent them back onto the road time and again.
