"Childhood friends, reunion after years apart, mutual secret crushes"
When they were young, Su Moyan had a crush on Lu Jinbai.
He was a frail, beautiful boy.
He loved wearing white shirts, and when he smiled, the corners of his mouth would curl up slightly, revealing dimples.
Su Moyan never got the chance to confess.
Lu Jinbai rejected the strawberries she brought him first, his expression cold. "Don't be so nice to me from now on. I don't need it."
Years later, not long after making her debut, Su Moyan starred in a drama with Lu Jinbai.
While they were kissing in a swimming pool, the man strayed from the script and kissed her earlobe.
His voice was husky and alluring, with a hint of delight hidden in it. "I heard you don't hit people anymore. Is that true?"
Su Moyan was wondering whether she should tell him he was blocking the wrong mark. "???"
Not long afterward, the media exposed Lu Jinbai's diaries from his school days.
Su Moyan finally understood what the man had meant.
[Lu Jinbai's Diary 1]
I like this girl who's really good at fighting, but I don't dare confess.
I heard a boy confessed to her and got beaten up.
I'm frail. I can't take a beating.
I'll confess once I can take one of her punches.
[Lu Jinbai's Diary 2]
They say love is when I eat the strawberry bottoms and she eats the tips.
But I think that kind of love is too poverty-stricken.
I love her, so I want us to eat the strawberry tips together.
That way, I look like I make plenty of money and can afford to support her.
[Lu Jinbai's Diary 3]
She's sweeter than the tip of a strawberry.
"Reader's Guide"
- This story is entirely fictional. The characters are not based on real people, and my headcanons are mountainous. If you don't like it, drop it. You don't have to tell the author!
- Hitting people is wrong. Don't imitate the heroine. We live in a civilized society, so reason things out.
- Blurb slightly revised on 2021.8.8; a screenshot has been saved as proof.
★ A sweet story about a childhood friend beating out a newcomer
★ Dashing young heir × refined heiress
Everyone in Shenzhen knows that Gu Yaoye, the future successor of Chengyuan Group, is a playboy.
He only drinks the strongest liquor, races the wildest cars, and dates the hottest women.
His wild, carefree ways are so outrageous that even his parents have given up trying to control him.
Just as everyone thought no one could ever tame this wild stallion, the Gu and Jiang families arranged a marriage.
The elegant, quiet, and steadfast eldest daughter of the Jiang family, Jiang Jingyue, was about to become Gu Yaoye's fiancée.
-
Not long after returning to the country, Gu Yaoye threw a party at his villa. Jiang Jingyue happened to drop by.
She caught him lounging shirtless in the swimming pool, surrounded by a group of women.
Before Gu Yaoye could explain, Jiang Jingyue stood on the shore and looked down at him. "I'm here to call off the engagement."
"As compensation, I can give you ten percent of the company's shares."
With that, she tossed the documents in her hand to the man.
Gu Yaoye caught them and gazed at her with eyes as deep as the sea for a moment before smiling nonchalantly. "Sure."
After Jiang Jingyue left, someone asked Gu Yaoye, "You don't need those shares. Why did you agree?"
The man climbed out of the pool and walked away alone, his muscular figure disappearing into the shadows. "I can't force someone into something they don't want or break up a pair of lovers."
Only then did everyone learn that Jiang Jingyue already had someone she loved.
-
Not long afterward, Jiang Jingyue broke up with the man she loved.
She went drinking with her best friend.
Through the haze, she saw Gu Yaoye.
The man wore a black shirt, with two buttons undone at the collar, revealing his collarbone and Adam's apple. He sat down beside her and handed her a hangover remedy. "You're putting yourself through all this for a jerk. You really have no sense."
Jiang Jingyue was infuriated by his scolding and slapped the table. "Aren't you a jerk too? What right do you have to criticize anyone else?"
The man's laughter faltered for a moment at her fierce, indignant expression, then he couldn't help laughing. "I'm a playboy, not a jerk."
Jiang Jingyue glared at him. "What's the difference?"
Gu Yaoye gently pinched her cheek. "Of course there is. Jerks are ugly. Playboys are handsome."
"..."
Most importantly, a playboy... has been waiting for you to turn around all along.
