[In Progress]
Yano Kanade has a condition that makes him cry uncontrollably. Whenever his emotions run high, tears well up in his eyes, so ever since kindergarten, he has had a nickname: Crybaby.
He dreams of becoming an athlete. After starting high school, he eagerly began attending club tryouts.
During the tryouts, Yano Kanade's eyes brimmed with tears, and the corners of his eyes were faintly red.
People all around him criticized and gossiped:
"Crybaby, why don't you just give up?"
"You're crying so hard you can barely hold the bow steady."
"Is this a swimming tryout or a tear-swimming contest?"
"You've cried all over the ball."
Yano Kanade's tears flowed freely, big drops rolling down his cheeks, yet every arrow hit the bullseye, he swam at incredible speed, and his spikes were rock steady.
Archery Club: Your bowstring sounds so steady. Want to join our club?
Swim Team: We'd love to have you.
Volleyball Club: Come join us!
Yano Kanade's tears kept pattering onto the ground. His eyes red, he clutched the hem of his shirt and said, "But a few people just came over and asked me to join their team."
Someone asked, "Huh? What club?"
Yano Kanade: "I think they called it the national youth team?"
Everyone who had mocked him was stunned: "That's not a club! It's the junior world championship team!"
Bonus scene:
After Yano Kanade joined the national youth volleyball team for training, he would often cry uncontrollably whenever he got nervous. Whenever he started crying, everyone stared intently at him, and the coach was very worried that he was being bullied.
But actually...
[Kanade is so cute.]
[He looks so beautiful when he cries. I want to protect him more than ever.]
[I want to pin him down in the locker room right now...]
The team's bullied crybaby, an athletic klutz, a cute beauty (X)
The team's beloved crybaby, an athletic genius, a volleyball maniac (√)
He's a short-tempered but weepy, slightly airheaded little tyrannosaurus (not really).
*The blurb may be revised, but the original premise will remain unchanged.
*Some characters are already on the national youth team in this story.
*Mainly Haikyuu!!, with some Tsurune and Free!, and a little Run with the Wind and The Prince of Tennis.
*The main pairing is undecided for now, probably Oikawa. Canon purists, stay away. OOC warning. There are one-sided crushes on the protagonist, who is doted on by the whole cast.
*60% matches, 40% daily life. A self-indulgent story written for the author's own enjoyment. The author is an anime fan and has read some of the manga, but there may still be mistakes, so apologies in advance. The author has no experience with matches and is an amateur, so don't take things too seriously. There are many headcanons, so please don't read if that bothers you.
Theme: Don't worry about what other people think. In your own world, you're the best!
