In Star Calendar Year 3086, Qing Ning woke up one morning to discover that he had become the last lemon on Earth.

Qing Ning was tired, hungry, and very poor.

When he opened the first page of the Capital Planet Guide, he read:

Qing Ning figured he could turn himself in, just a little, because he really was short on cash.

But when he opened the second page of the guide, he read:

[The Research Institute hereby promises to use every scientific means available to assist endangered plants in reproducing. This includes, but is not limited to, research involving slicing plants into samples, soaking them in water, and air-drying them.]

Qing Ning's pupils shook with shock, and he closed the guide. There was absolutely no way he was doing that!!

So Qing Ning hid his identity and tried hard to get by, but still ended up at the Research Institute, where he was assigned to sweep the floors.

Looking at the plant specimens lining the walls, Qing Ning burst into tears: This is such an unfriendly world for lemons, sob sob...
