Qi Anchen has always been the kind of kid other people's parents brag about, a star forever standing above everyone else. No one could have imagined he'd become a falling star.
Zheng Yu is the one who reaches out from among millions to embrace that falling star.

Years later, Qi Anchen wraps his arms around his little sun from behind, chuckles, and breathes softly in his ear before asking in a low voice, "Am I still small?"

One day, near the end of the year, Zheng Yu stands very unwillingly in front of a bookcase taller than he is, holding a rag. They were supposed to do the year-end cleanup together, but Qi Anchen had called at the last minute to say something urgent had come up and he couldn't make it back. He'd told Zheng Yu to get started without him.
What the hell? Did he think I was a cleaning lady? It's only been a few years, and already he's tired of me?
Grumbling silently to himself, Zheng Yu brings over a step ladder and takes down the old books on the upper shelves one by one, dusting them off. "Das Kapital, The Stranger, Clinical Foundations, Maupassant, Auden, huh?"
A slightly yellowed slip of paper slowly drifts from the Auden poetry collection in Zheng Yu's hand and lands on the floor.
Curious, Zheng Yu climbs down from the ladder. He bends over and gently picks up the note. On the palm-sized piece of paper, a line of neat handwriting records a wish that was never hung on a tree: I want to catch the light and put it in the deepest place in my heart. Then perhaps my heart, too, can be warmed.
