Yang Yuan is a cute little guy who always carries a black notebook around and seems shy and quiet.
He meets someone named Lin Rui in a strange dream. At first glance, Lin Rui is tall and straight as a pine, righteous and imposing, with a twinkle like a star. But ten minutes later... You sneaky little rat!!!
Yang Yuan: "Yikes, this is getting a little out of hand."
Lin Rui barely dodges a forbidden rule. "Keep an eye on the little brat. Don't let those guys lead him astray. Learn how to figure out the patterns in these dreams. And stay back from now on, or the boss will beat you to a pulp."
And then... he watches as the "little brat," who had just been "shaking with fear" and "pale as a sheet," and whom he'd protected the whole way, pins the poor boss to the ground and beats him senseless...
Suddenly, he wants to comfort the poor, adorable boss. Suddenly, he wants to beat the crap out of himself for running his mouth earlier.
Two
There are two kinds of people who enter a "dream":
One kind knows nothing at all, thinks they've just had a night's sleep, and had a nightmare.
The other kind uncovers the truth behind the plot and satisfies the boss's needs, basically working as a volunteer.
But their experiences... are just plain bizarre.
In the first round, they're supposed to trade insults and argue. They somehow pass after winning an argument with a fruit seller. Then they get randomly assigned to the second round: a deadly choice on a street of death.
Choose side A? Dead. Side B? Dead anyway.
Could you at least give us a C?!
And then, after that... because they do such an "excellent" job, they're forced to work for free...
When the big boss behind the scenes personally shows up to invite (force) them to come play (work) every day, Lin Rui says, "I'm. So. Hap. Py!"
Little by little, I'm almost unable to hold back. But what good would that do?
