After I Turned In My Superpowers

For some reason, a poplar tree spirit transformed into a human. She remembered how, in her previous life, she had endured for a thousand years as a tree, yet still couldn't outlast the sandstorms. After being reborn, she turned herself over to the state and set about putting down roots and spreading her branches. * She buried her seeds in the sand and coaxed them to sprout. Row upon row of saplings flourished, keeping the sand at bay and anchoring the soil. She pruned her leaves to feed cattle and sheep. The figures running across the pasture brought hope. Her sap could cure illnesses, and her roots could drive away insects and ants. She taught everyone to harvest crystals, remove salt from the soil, improve the land, and develop cottage industries. Poplar gazed at the green wall she had nurtured with her own hands. “I'll make this land evergreen for ten thousand years.” * The nations across the Barren Star had long grown used to the endless yellow dust. Then, one day, the Ancient East Kingdom quietly turned green, stunning the entire Barren Star. Reading Guide: The female lead is a poplar tree spirit who can talk to plants.
