A Song in Search of a Wife

[This story is not contracted for payment] A split-personality male lead pursues his wife by every means, both openly and in secret. The heroine is oblivious, blind to his feelings and completely unaware of his intentions. In the end, a storyteller turns their tale into a book and sells it, loudly proclaiming how Miss Sun seduced the Marquis Who Guards the Nation. The marquis glances at it. Though the story is untrue, its writing is excellent, and he finds it quite delightful. He summons the storyteller to his estate and tosses him a story he wrote himself. "Go sell this. If it doesn't sell well, I'll have your head." The storyteller looks at the cover and his hands start shaking. The Marquis Who Guards the Nation Pursues His Sweet and Demure Wife The Marquis Pined for His Young Lady at Night and Fell Ill from Sleeplessness This... this is vulgar and made up! It's utterly disgraceful! Little Scene Servant: "Do you know how many people came to the Sun estate to ask for your hand after that day?" Ask for my hand? Heroine: "No one did." Servant: "The marquis had seven streets leading to the Sun estate guarded. Everyone who came to propose was escorted away by heavily armed soldiers! It took a whole three days before people stopped daring to ask for your hand..." This story is not contracted for payment! No tips needed! If you like it, please leave a comment. This story was commissioned by a "reader" after winning a game the author had set up. The reader, misty, provided the story. The title, names, character concepts, sweetness and angst, and plot outline were all thought up by misty. The author is fulfilling a promise made in the game by writing it. Her story is wonderful, but my writing is limited, so please bear with me if it doesn't meet your expectations. Theme: Pass on ancient culture, live in the present, and cherish the people beside you to find happiness in the end.
