I Only Like Your Voice

Jing Li is the lead singer of a band. After screaming for two hours at a music festival, he nearly wrecks his voice, so his mother puts him in a double hospital room to recuperate.

Just as he is worrying about how to “escape,” someone moves into the bed next to his. Their features and figure are exactly his type, and even their extremely aloof personality hits all his buttons.

Apparently, they were hospitalized because of nervous tinnitus.

One can’t speak, the other can’t hear clearly. Jing Li asks a nurse to buy pink heart-shaped sticky notes, then writes poems every day and sticks them by Wen Zhe’s bed. His intentions are obvious to the entire hospital.

Wen Zhe acts as if he doesn’t see them.

By the time Jing Li’s mother drags him out of the hospital, Wen Zhe still hasn’t given him so much as a proper glance.

Heartbroken, he returns to school and throws himself back into his singing career.

After leaving the hospital, Wen Zhe goes to watch a campus singing competition. A voice captivates him, and inspiration pours out of him like a spring.

He pushes through the crowd and grabs the lead singer’s hand, only to discover that he’s the hospital roommate who used to bother him.

Then Wen Zhe buys the same sticky notes, writes songs for Jing Li, and sticks them on all his instruments. He settles in to wait for his prey.

When the “rabbit” finally shows up, he asks, “Are you hoping to join our band?”

-

After a new member joins the band, the old members notice that their antisocial lead singer has suddenly changed.

He starts slinging his arms around them and sharing advice, and chatting happily about all kinds of things with the girls who come asking for autographs.

The band’s rehearsal room is always filled with the scent of lemons.
