Ophelia had a friend she'd grown up with in Crime Alley. She thought they'd never be apart.
That is, until her friend got it into his head to steal the tires off the Batmobile.
After losing her friend, Ophelia managed to get Catwoman on her side and began working toward her life's ambition: becoming one of Gotham's finest.
At long last, she got back in touch with her friend and snuck out with him to find his birth mother, only to receive some special attention from the Joker.
From then on, Ophelia found herself sharing a whole lot in common with Daredevil, and changed her life's goal to beating the Joker to a pulp.
After successfully beating the Joker to a pulp, she received invitations from all kinds of organizations.
Some Hydra agent: Heard you hate Batman. Want to meet up?
Some red-and-gold tin can: Heard you have money, too. Want to meet up?
Some assassin leader: Heard you're strong. Want to meet up?
Ophelia's response:
Thanks for the offer, but working for someone else is never happening. Not in this lifetime.
She thought nothing big would ever change for her again. Then, a few years later, she realized she'd done something huge.
...Everything she dreamed about came true.
The scariest part was that after she caused a whole pile of world-ending disasters, her identity was exposed in front of her friend, who had suddenly come back to life and grown up.
The Joker could no longer get back to his feet. The scars on his face showed through even his thick makeup, but he was still laughing maniacally.
"Come to avenge your little shrike?"
Ophelia raised her knife high.
"I'm here for Jason."
"And I'm the shrike."
