An international flight from Country M crashes in the Pacific Ocean. The only two survivors are Lu Wei, a novelist aboard the flight, and Ke Yao, a top-tier star known throughout China. They wash up on a deserted island in the Pacific, where they must learn to trust each other, find a way to survive, and wait for rescue.
Lu Wei is aloof and a homebody. Years of writing at an intense pace have forced her to keep up a regular exercise routine at home. For the sake of her writing, she's learned all kinds of miscellaneous things, including wilderness survival, though it's all just theory.
In Lu Wei's eyes, Ke Yao is a celebrity who creates nothing but trouble: fussy and useless apart from her pretty face and featherweight body.
Ke Yao, too, feels she's never met anyone like Lu Wei. Lu Wei seems to come from another world, is hopeless with people, and has such a stubborn temper that she upsets Ke Yao time and again.
Lu Wei hates Ke Yao's fussiness and chattering, while Ke Yao hates Lu Wei's reserve and indifference. But at the edge of the world, they have to put aside their dislike of each other and work together. Gradually, they both discover that the other is not quite as she seems, and that each has many more delightful surprises in store.
