[Bungo Stray Dogs] The Wandering Soul

[Blurb] Dazai said: We are not on the same path. I seek death along the road of life, while you seek life in the embrace of death. Chiyo said: Please, sir, walk beside me. Life is nothing but an absurd and fascinating journey. Spring is warm and gentle, a fine time to die together and rediscover hope. Why not break off a branch of early cherry blossoms and wander hand in hand? [Original Character Information] Kiyohara Chiyo is modeled on the classical Japanese writer Sei Shonagon. "Sei" is her surname and may also be rendered as "Kiyohara"; "Shonagon" is an official title. A famous female writer of Japan's Heian period and one of the Thirty-Six Medieval Poetry Immortals, she was counted alongside Murasaki Shikibu and Izumi Shikibu as one of the Heian period's three great literary women. Her representative work is The Pillow Book. [Also] 1. The heroine is a classic Yamato Nadeshiko, and her pairing is with Dazai. 2. I haven't finished outlining yet, so I'm saving up chapters first. 3. Updates whenever inspiration strikes. I'd rather die than abandon the story. Theme: Seeking death through life, and seeking life through death.
