Song Wei, who takes life and death in stride and fights anyone who dares defy her, wakes up in the body of a sweet, obedient young woman. To avoid breaking character and disappearing beneath the cannons of the interstellar age, she sheaths her claws, speaks softly, and smiles warmly at everyone.
But why does everyone tremble when she's around?
When did she let her true nature slip?
Isn't her smile gentle enough?
Only later does Song Wei learn that everyone in this interstellar world has a Star Soul that reflects its owner's true personality. So whenever she greets people with a warm, cheerful smile, her rabbit Star Soul is holding a brick and baring its teeth at the Star Souls across from it.
Song Wei: I'm gentle.
Rabbit: I'm just pretending.
Worst of all, by the time she discovers this, everyone in the interstellar world already knows that Song Wei is pretending to be gentle.
P.S. Star Souls are my own invention: spiritual entities that reflect their owner's true personality.
