[One Piece] A Smile to Banish a Thousand Sorrows

Emmmm. Writing a blurb is really hard, so I'll keep it simple. The characters might be OOC, so I have to warn everyone in advance. Otherwise, if I get them wrong, I might get criticized.

Sen is an orphan. After finally growing up on handouts from the neighbors, she had just gotten a marriage certificate with a Marine. They hadn't even had a chance to live happily together before... her husband was gone.

"I haven't even had a wedding or a child, and now I'm a widow!" Holding her husband's death notice, Sen knelt on the floor, overwhelmed with grief.

Living frugally on government assistance, she studied hard and tried to become a doctor so she could join the Marines as a medic and help wounded Marines.

"Hey! You blind bastard! You got what you wanted and now you don't want to pay? You must be looking to die!" A group of people surrounded a tall man and threatened him.

"I did no such thing. I was only asking for directions..." Two deep scars over the man's eyes had robbed him of his sight. No matter how he tried to explain, the group insisted he pay a huge sum before they'd let him go.

"...The police are here! Pack up and run!" A sudden shout sent all the street vendors and thugs fleeing in every direction.

"Heeheehee~~" Sen hid behind a wall and giggled to herself.

"Thank you very much for helping me, miss." The man found her hiding place despite leaning on a cane.

"Y-you're welcome. Don't take such isolated roads again. I'll lead you out." Holding the slightly heavy vegetables in her arms, she bent down, took the other end of his cane, and led him toward a brighter path in life.

1. This is everyday life. The heroine won't have fight scenes or anything like that. She's a total weakling!

2. It might be a little short, but I'll do my best to keep it under control.

3. ...I can't think of anything else, so that'll do. Daily updates!!
