White Space (Fruits Basket)

Blank Space (Fruits Basket)

When the howling north wind blows, the petals on the trees unfurl like tassels.

Dragonflies skim over the fields, and the wheat sways gently.

A faint chill in the morning light. Lollipops. The second button on a shirt. Sleepless nights.

This is our youth.

A youth we thought we might lose our way in, but that would eventually end in farewell after all our twists and turns.

A guide to this story:

1. Fruits Basket fan fiction, set in the era of the infamous love-triangle trio.

2. Mostly based on the anime, with the manga as a supplement. (When Yuki said he only felt about Tohru the way he felt about a mother, I nearly coughed up three pints of blood and passed out...) So when Akito shows up, they may be neither male nor female.

3. This story includes moe, slash, pedophilia, sibling relationships, and other taboo themes, but the main story itself will stay wholesome, positive, and full of ambition.

Goals for this story:

1. I’ll do my best to make it a youthful romance rather than an inspirational coming-of-age drama, or at the very least, a youthful romance with an inspirational streak.

2. Let’s get more comments than favorites

P.S. I’m actually terrible at coming up with titles. Other titles I considered were Welcome, Your Majesty, Natsuki Takaya and Ayame Sohma, and Drama Club Memo. Speaking of which, His and Her XXX is such an admirable title!

Earlier work: Main story complete, bonus chapters appearing sporadically.
