The following are my own additions. I think the logic is reasonably sound, but please be gentle if you spot any bugs:
Before the Shibuya Incident, Fake Geto made a binding vow with Ryomen Sukuna through Uraume. It was a very loose agreement: Geto would help Sukuna when needed, and hoped that, if things went wrong, he could borrow the King's power. Since Geto was more articulate than the curses and had been introduced by someone Sukuna knew, and Sukuna had yet to regain his full strength, he agreed.
P.S. GetoGojo or GojoGeto, either way works. The whole story is clean, so why argue about it? The two of them sharing a scene is already sweetness!
