Glass Rain

Because of her skin hunger, Wen Li is forced to return from Country A to Wan'er for psychological treatment.

Her doctor says her condition may be connected to a memory she has forgotten.

Whenever she undergoes hypnosis to recover her memories, she sees a pair of beautiful, peach-blossom eyes, like an old dream glimpsed through mist.

Later, she sees those eyes again in a bar.

In the dim light, a man glances up lazily. His features are so striking they seem almost sharp.

She hears that his name is Yan Zhou, and that his family has fallen on hard times. He is now the bar’s top singer.

Wen Li instinctively wants to stay away from him, but she soon discovers that only embracing him can ease her skin hunger.

Ji Yanzhou was once the pampered heir to Wuyu Capital, admired by all and free to do as he pleased.

When he was eighteen, a branch of the Ji family led by Ji Yuxi schemed against his family, bringing their business empire crashing down and sending him from the clouds into the mire.

At his lowest point, his first love, Wen Li, left him.

She said she wanted to climb to a higher branch, and now that he had lost everything, he was clearly no longer one worth climbing.

Years later, Ji Yanzhou used an iron fist to restore Wuyu Capital to its former heights.

On the day the company relisted on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, he learned that Wen Li was dating Ji Yuxi.

The man who had ruined him had become her new ticket to the top.

They meet again in a bar.

Wen Li has not only forgotten him completely, but mistakes him for Yan Zhou, a down-on-his-luck bar singer.

She approaches him and hands him a card.

“I heard you’re short on money. Would you let me hug you? Name your price.”

Ji Yanzhou takes the card and smiles meaningfully. “Anything for you, boss.”

At first, he only intends to use Wen Li to get back at Ji Yuxi, drive a wedge between them, and make sure she can never climb that high branch again.

But Ji Yanzhou soon realizes that more than revenge, he wants to know when Wen Li is going to break up with Ji Yuxi.

The day her skin hunger is cured, Wen Li buys a plane ticket back to Country A.

On the way to the airport, a black Maserati suddenly cuts off her car.

The man grips her wrist, unmistakable anger in his eyes.

“Didn’t you want to climb to a higher branch? I can give you everything Ji Yuxi can, and everything he can’t.”

“So, Wen Li, climb me instead of him.”
