Qin Yi, courtesy name Zhongcai, was the second child in his family. His family came from a scholarly tradition, and Qin Yi had a happy childhood. Unfortunately, he was born in turbulent times. His older brother went out to support Qin Yi's studies, met with an accident, and died. His grief-stricken parents hadn't even given Qin Yi a courtesy name before they, too, left him behind.
Fortunately, Qin Yi was learned and talented, so he could still earn a living. He hadn't forgotten what he'd learned as a child, either, and chose a courtesy name for himself. Since he was the second child in the family, he would be Zhongcai.
Lü Bu's courtesy name was Fengxian. When he was little, his parents had him acknowledge Ding Yuan as his adoptive father. Though Lü Bu was the greatest warrior under heaven, few people in his hometown were scholars. Growing up surrounded by that attitude, he came to think studying was useless. Thus he became arrogant and conceited.
These two should have had nothing to do with each other, but at a certain turning point, Qin Yi became Qin Yi. He was very unfortunately recruited into Lü Bu's army as a soldier. But he's a scholar!
The arrogant, conceited, possessive, high-handed Lü Bu, who only loves Qin Yi (top) X the weak, pitiful, helpless, cold military strategist Qin Yi (bottom)
Theme: Don't be too arrogant, or you'll get kicked.
