[Noragami] The Uchiha Shinki and the Five-Yen God

As the title says, I break up the canon pairing: Yato x Tobi. Throughout the novel, Uchiha Obito is referred to as [Tobi]. -- I started revising the entire novel in 2023 and finished the first full revision on 2024/1/25. I'll keep revising it as my writing and ideas improve. There are so many brainwashing takes in the comments on anime episodes that, every now and then, I realize I've gone completely insane and need to make changes. Let's just say that my 22-year-old self thinks the food my 20-year-old self made was too stiff, so I'm reheating and stir-frying those leftovers. See the 2022 version in the Penguin Den. -- The Kannabi Bridge battle gave rise to two heroes who possessed the Sharingan. The name of the boy engraved on the memorial stone was captured after his death by a sorcerer from the Alliance of Those Who Transmigrate Through History. One day, prompted by the infighting among these time-traveling soldiers, he went to another world, to the Heian era a thousand years in the past. During the battle to protect Heian-kyo, the spirit broke free from the sorcerer's control and was taken in by a god. Given a name, he became a Shinki. When memories of his life as a living person resurfaced and hurt his master, the god erased his name. After many twists and turns, he became a well-known stray god who was obsessed with worldly pleasures and loved gold and silver. The stray god ran (died) errands (for) various gods (and demanded) money (for it), until one day he was bound to a certain famously anonymous poverty god. From then on, he spent his days doing odd jobs and running errands to support the god. Thanks to the spendthrift god's laid-back habits, they managed to build a shrine just before the end of the Meiji era. At last, they had a place to call home. A happy ending, indeed. -- Setting details: 1. Not every deceased person is qualified to become a Shinki. Most of the dead are taken to Hell by the Afterlife Affairs Division to be judged. A few remain on earth, and only those with a connection to the gods have a chance to become Shinki. 2. The spirits of Shinki take two forms. Some are nonhuman: their appearance takes the shape of something in creation, reflecting their inner nature. Those who fall into corruption mostly become bizarre monsters. Their outward form is called their "original form." Others take human form, appearing as ordinary ghosts wearing a crown. Tobi's original form is an iris. 3. The two Sharingan heroes of the Kannabi Bridge battle, Obito and Kakashi, really did end up with one dead and one alive. Obito died against his will at the age of 13, so his soul has remained in the form of a boy. Gods and Shinki "grow" differently from humans. For convenience, let's say their appearance reflects their inner nature. Yato is thousands of years old, but looks 19. 4. Tobi is the name he received after death, and it runs throughout the entire novel. As a Shinki, Tobi has countless flower names and aliases, so I won't list them all in the blurb.
