Blurb:

When I was ten, I wished for a friend. So, in another world, I found someone I could talk to through a connection. He told me that when his family locked him in a room as punishment, he had made the same wish I had: to have a friend.

When I was eleven, I wished for a family. Then I met a man with a fat cat that could speak. He gently held out his hand and asked if I wanted to become part of his family.

I began to realize that if someone made a similar wish at the same time as me, that wish, or rather, our wish, would come true.

So when I was twelve, I made another wish: I wanted to live however I pleased.

I figured this wish was about as common as slimes in another world. Surely someone else had made it at the same time as me.

But it didn't come true, and I also lost contact with my friend from the other world.

When I was thirteen, I made another wish. It still didn't come true.

This time, I lost my family.

When I was fourteen, I met a nihilistic bastard covered in bandages. He was sprawled in the icy river, and in a listless voice he said to me, "Living however you please means having nothing at all. No ties to hold you back, so naturally you can do whatever you want. Come on... Make your wish now."

I silently pinned him underwater and beat him up. Then I realized that whoever was granting my wishes might be just as hopeless at reading comprehension as this bastard, so I repeated the definition of "living however you please" as I made my wish again.

This time, the first thing my wish gave back to me was the fat cat from my family...

The story does not follow the timeline in the blurb. The heroine is already sixteen in Chapter One.
