Because Natsume couldn't tell monsters apart when he was little, he was bullied from a young age. After the child of a family he was staying with deliberately got him lost once again, a certain "doctor" took him away. However, Mori Ogai never imagined that the child he'd picked up would be related by blood to his own teacher.
Although Natsume grows up in the Mafia, he's still the same warmhearted, kind child (probably?), and he's also a formidable fighter.
The pairing is set as Mori Ogai. (Warning: In the extra chapters, Natsume is the top, so that may well be the case in the main story too.) Also, all the yokai in the Book of Friends are shikigami from Onmyoji, and the story contains an ocean of original authorial settings.
