Our Clan

The Immortal Realm is a world ruled by eight clans.

The Jiang and Ji clans are the leading clans.

The Yao, Ying, and Si clans are secondary clans.

The Yun, Ren, and Gui clans are foundational clans.

Each clan uses its clan name as its surname. Those who ascend to the Immortal Realm join the clan of their maternal bloodline and change their surname and family name accordingly.

Women hold the highest status in the Immortal Realm, but men are not looked down on. Men take a clan name to mark their strength; women have no need to do so.

Women are given honorific titles, with Zunshang as the highest. Men are addressed as Jun. Zunshang leads the clans, while Jun serves through strength. Neither is superior to the other.

Jiang Ji, clan leader of the Jiang, uses Yuan as her title and is called Jiang Yuan Zunshang. She rules the Immortal Realm.

Ever since the mortal realm and the Immortal Realm were connected a thousand years ago, calamities have followed one after another. So Jiang Yuan Zunshang, who had been in seclusion for a long time, had no choice but to emerge and take charge.

Warnings: 1. The female lead was among the earliest people in the Immortal Realm. She has lived through the matrilineal clans' matriarchal society from its beginnings to the present, and the Immortal Realm has always been matriarchal. This will remain true throughout the story.

2. Because of the setting of the Immortal Realm, all forms of address in the matrilineal clans will be different. Please read the setting in Chapter One carefully.

3. There is a Girls' Love supporting couple: the female lead's disciple Jiang Li and the princess disciple Ji Yang, whom Jiang Li took in while she was living among the imperial family in the mortal realm.
