The CEO and the Contractor Who Secretly Loves Him

The construction foreman wasn't a foreman back then, just a laborer doing masonry work. With one casual glance, he saw a bead of sweat slowly slide down the CEO's chin. His slightly flushed, damp cheek and spirited expression left him staring, stunned. He thought about it long and hard, but couldn't come up with the right word to describe him. Only later did he realize the word was sexy. The kind of sexy that radiated a deadly allure despite every button being fastened. They met again three years later, when the foreman happened to save the CEO. The foreman said, "I thought you were handsome, so I saved you." The CEO replied, "Handsome? I was covered in bruises. Even my own mother didn't recognize me when I got home." The foreman blinked, two red patches appearing on his dark face. "Well... all right. Actually, I've had my eye on you all along." The CEO struggled to keep the corners of his mouth from turning up. "I knew it." A hardworking, looks-obsessed construction foreman falls for a handsome, arrogant CEO. From a cautious, one-sided crush to finally resolving to bring the CEO home. A short story. Sweet, happy ending. Theme: There's nothing better than a simple, peaceful life.
