Song Shiyu trained for three years in Sima Town and joined a debut lineup, nearly debuting as a member of EXO.
After that, he trained for a year at Big Hit Entertainment, but the CEO, PD Bang, persuaded him to leave.
So after leaving, Song Shiyu made his solo debut.
Later, Song Shiyu went on to dominate half the solo K-pop scene.
In an interview, he was asked how he felt about not debuting in a group.
Song Shiyu: Honestly, I knew from the start that I wasn't even close to debuting. Isn't going solo great?
Just let me shine on my own.
