Back to 1986: The Little Tailor

Lin Nanjun finally outlived the head of the Lin family, Old Master Lin Yaocheng, at the age of 48.

The day after he died, Lin Nanjun was found at the bottom of the stairs in her home, wheelchair and all. She had no breath left.

Lin Nanjun was reborn. She returned to the day she was brought back to the Lin family at the age of 16. Back then, she was not yet called Lin Nanjun. Her name was Lin Dou, the granddaughter the Lin family had found in the countryside.

She had not yet been married off by the Lin family to a madman with a manic disorder, nor beaten by him until she was disabled. And she had not yet spent decades afterward as a caged bird, under house arrest by Lin Xiaocheng.

In this life, she would not let the Lin family's promises of wealth blind her or fall for their lies again.

That night, she climbed over the wall and escaped, only to find a badly injured man on the roadside, barely clinging to life.

Lin Dou recognized him. He was the half-brother of that madman, Qin Baiyi, who would one day become the head of the Qin family and rule over Haicheng.

So Lin Dou saved him.

Relying on the sewing skills she had honed during the lonely years of her previous life, Lin Dou found work at a tailor shop and took care of Qin Baiyi.

The isolated and cold-hearted Qin Baiyi thought he had met a fairy, but he did not know she was only being kind to him because she wanted revenge on the Lin and Qin families.

Lin Dou: I feed you well and take good care of you. Get strong soon and go back to slap the Qin family in the face!

Qin Baiyi: Dou Dou is the only person in this world who treats me well. I have to work hard and earn money so Dou Dou can go back and slap the Lin family in the face!

Theme: Better to rely on yourself than on others.
