I Found a Mermaid's Phone

Ever since she was little, Xiang Nian had kept a secret: a little prince lived inside the conch shell she had found, and she could hear the ocean's response. Whenever she was sad, she would confide in the shell. It always took a long time for the ocean to reply, though. She kept up their conversations, waiting a whole month between each response, and never once stopped. As an adult, she suffered a setback at work and couldn't hold back her late-night blues. She poured her heart out to the shell. Tipsy and emboldened, she finally asked the question she had always wanted to ask but had never dared to: "Can I meet you? I want to see you." After asking, she never received another reply from the shell. Heartbroken, she thought she had frightened the little prince away. Three months after losing contact, Xiang Nian joined a survival-at-sea variety show. When the other guests argued over something trivial, she was accidentally knocked off balance and fell into the sea. Unable to swim, she gave up struggling. She thought she was going to die, but then she saw a white-haired god emerging from the depths. He had a beautiful fish tail, a lithe body, deep blue eyes, and an enchanting voice: "Kid, I've come to see you." Cang Xun accidentally lost a conch shell that could be used to communicate over long distances. One day, he heard a human child crying through it. On the first day, he thought, How annoying. On the second day, he somehow found himself replying, "Stop crying." Later, the child started taking advantage of his kindness, treating him like a diary and talking nonsense at him every day. He thought of it as a way to pass the time, until the day the child cried and said she wanted to see him. So he crossed light-years, traveling from the deep sea to her side. #Blurb is tentative #Can't settle on one idea, always changing pre-release stories Theme: Love is a confession across time and space.
