Shen Zhenzhen's troublemaking friend recommends an old-school period novel to her. The vicious supporting female character in the book is also named Shen Zhenzhen. Switched at birth and raised in the countryside, she is eventually taken back by the Shen family, where she grows jealous of Shen Jiajia, the heroine she was switched with, and covets Shen Jiajia's fiance, Wei Jiahao. She stirs up trouble at home until the Shen parents, at their wits' end, send her to the countryside.
She keeps causing trouble and turning evil, constantly trying to sabotage the main couple, and eventually meets a tragic end. Meanwhile, the hero and heroine remain devoted to each other and live happily ever after.
Shen Zhenzhen, a female engineering PhD in the twenty-first century, reads the novel from beginning to end with a scientific mindset.
What on earth?! This makes no sense!
The next day, she gets into a car accident and transmigrates into this completely illogical novel.
Author, show yourself! I promise I won't beat you to death!
After a while, she realizes that the heroine, Shen Jiajia, seems to have transmigrated too. And the person who came here is... the author?!

But somehow, things keep taking a more and more unexpected turn...
