Guided by a prophecy, Mi Li An found a talented orphan girl in a rundown inn.
Mi Li An: You're the child of destiny I've been waiting for!
But after joyfully scooping up her new apprentice and carrying her away, Mi Li An found a taciturn man following behind them, refusing to leave. Mi Li An had this to say about people who were so righteous and full of admirable qualities, yet dared to look at her in secret with disapproval: "Yep, natural enemy."
#My fists are itching, but I don't think I can beat him
Thirty minutes after meeting Mi Li An, Ran A Rang watched her take away the child he'd sworn to care for.
Three hours later, she claimed to be a witch. Ran A Rang thought she was superstitious and not quite right in the head.
Three days later, she took away his freedom. Only then did he realize that when she called herself a witch, she meant it.
With his worldview in tatters, Ran A Rang swallowed his pride and stayed with the witch for Ke Sai Te's sake. Alongside this necromancer, who was constantly being bossed around by ghosts, he met a fortune-telling witch who drew cards as a side gig and made a living from romance, a potion-maker with severe social anxiety, and an herbalist witch who grew crops to get by... Watching Ke Sai Te study witchcraft diligently every day and charge headlong down the hopeless path of becoming a witch, Ran A Rang resolved to find a chance to rescue the child and teach her to become a woman of upright, pure, and honest virtue.
#Why is this witch so weak and yet so confident (and so mean)?
After a while, Ran A Rang realized that although he'd turned over a new leaf and vowed to be a devout, honorable man, he was doing everything he could to protect one and a half genuine witches.
