Raising a Dragon in Gotham [Western Crossover]

“Night Fury, speed unknown, size unknown.

An evil descendant of Thor and the Grim Reaper. Under no circumstances should you engage it in combat.

If you encounter one, hide and pray you make it out alive.”

An evil sorcerer sought to resurrect the legendary dragon. He spared no expense, paying a fortune for a Night Fury egg that had yet to hatch.

So using chaotic, lawless Gotham as his base was the right decision. He placed the egg in a cauldron and slowly poured in an indescribable magical potion.

The evil sorcerer loudly chanted his spell, only to be kicked into a pillar by Batman, who burst in through the broken window.

“Nightmares will descend with lightning and darkness! You’re all doomed!” the sorcerer shouted indignantly.

Batman struck him a second time, knocking him out cold.

The cautious Dark Knight had not yet had time to call Zatanna to deal with this magical incident.

The egg resting quietly in the cauldron suddenly began to shake. A crack appeared at the top, and a wet little Night Fury wriggled out.

It could not open its eyes yet. Flailing about, it bumped into the quartz cauldron and got itself thoroughly dazed, letting out a weak little cry.

“Rawr.”

The worldly-wise Batman decided to reserve judgment.
