I just finished watching Farewell My Concubine, so I'm striking while the iron is hot and writing a fanfic. I've only seen the movie once, so I don't really understand its deeper meaning, but I think Cheng Dieyi suffered terribly, and I really disagree with the old-fashioned values of that era. So I want to create a female protagonist with modern values who can change Cheng Dieyi's fate. Across a timeline spanning almost half a century, through changing times, she will let him perform Farewell My Concubine onstage without a care in the world, fulfill his dream of The Peony Pavilion, and keep him safe.
My writing isn't very good, and I have chronic procrastination. Please don't flame me. I can't guarantee I'll finish this story, either.
