After Gong Jiu takes in a canary, he awakens to self-awareness and discovers that he's a cannon-fodder top in a melodramatic harem novel. Apart from keeping the protagonist bottom in the first three chapters and providing five million in funding, he has no other part in the story.
So Gong Jiu gets in touch with the author. "According to the arrangement, am I supposed to give him five million every month?"
"That's right."
Gong Jiu gives a cold laugh. "Do you know how much I earn each month?"
"...Actually, your character profile isn't that detailed."
Gong Jiu sighs. "Twelve thousand after taxes. I can barely support myself. Don't make me a cannon-fodder top."
Of course, the author refuses to change the story, so Gong Jiu plans to run away. He wants to go out and enjoy himself, but he also has to follow the original plot and play the part of a proper sugar daddy.
So he plans to find his canary a new sugar daddy while he goes looking for a lover. But the author says no. Gong Jiu is devoted by nature, so getting a lover is out of the question.
Before he can even find a new sugar daddy, his delicate little canary takes a liking to him and tops him.
Gong Jiu is even more miserable now, because this is a novel where everyone bottoms, and the bottom's character can't break. If it does, it won't be an everyone-bottoms novel anymore.
