[Western Crossover] Hero by Day, Supervillain by Night

After the former mercenary died, he got saddled with a torturous System that demanded he become both a superhero and a supervillain. "You must be a superhero who punishes evil and upholds justice, and also a sophisticated, notorious criminal," the System said with theatrical emphasis. "Are you trying to give me a split personality?" For scheduling purposes, the System decided the mercenary would be a hero by day and a criminal by night. "You should've gone into business and become a capitalist. What a waste," the mercenary grumbled at the System while diligently doing his job. And so the former mercenary spent his days as a righteous knight, saving the world from aliens and Hydra in New York. At night, he became Batman's biggest fanboy, the Joker, and delighted in causing mayhem in Gotham City and making Batman's life miserable. One day, his secret identity was exposed. Shocking! Gotham's Prince of Crime moonlights as a New York superhero! Unbelievable! New York's superhero transforms into Gotham's Prince of Crime at night! And so S.H.I.E.L.D. and Batman fought over custody of the former mercenary, now a supervillain moonlighting as a hero. "He's a New York superhero. Even if he commits crimes, he should be detained at Avengers Tower, where we'll keep an eye on him." Tony, representing S.H.I.E.L.D. in its mission to snatch him up. "He was Gotham's Joker before he became a superhero. He should be in my custody, locked up in Arkham Asylum." Batman, representing every Joker fan in Gotham. The two sides argued endlessly, then both turned to look at the mercenary, who was eating popcorn and enjoying the show. Mercenary: What the hell are you looking at? I'll punch you. Hehe. And then... Batman simply snatched him and ran back to Gotham. A mutual redemption cliché. Batman pairing. Happy ending. Content warning: The protagonist isn't a good person. He's a mad, obsessive maniac. This is self-indulgent writing by an author who loves villains. You know how it is. If you argue with me, you're right. No need to be polite. If I've already given the warning and you still come to complain under my story, I'll assume you're just looking for trouble. I'll call out anyone who does. Coming soon: The Superheroes I've Played Are Everywhere Q: How do you save a world on the brink of destruction? A: Become a heartless, shameless playboy. To gather energy and save the world, Layan travels through different worlds, playing the part of a shameless playboy and collecting energy. Because of how resources are allocated, he has to carry different secret identities while completing missions in the same world. The little rose of the god among men, the blind profiler partner of officer Dick Grayson, the Dark Knight's other half, and more. There may be a dramatic secret-identity reveal later, but the ending has no pairing. The protagonist ends up single and thriving. That's that. Theme: Your thoughts and actions determine your future, so think carefully before you act. Even if you can't become the person you hoped to be, you should at least become a decent human being.
