My Empire Is Yours to Mold

When Fang Jinling woke up, he happened to hear that the Marquis of Yunyang had brought his mistress back home. The illegitimate son was supposedly very promising, and the family was happily preparing to acknowledge him as one of their own. Everyone in the household thought the Marquis of Yunyang would abandon his sickly legitimate son and cultivate the illegitimate one. They waited to laugh at the marquis's wife and Fang Jinling. But the marquis's wife stayed by Fang Jinling's side and said, "Ling'er, Mother wants a divorce." The Marquis of Yunyang thought his wife was only making an empty threat. With her gentle, virtuous nature, how could she really leave? But before the New Year, people from the Marquis of Xiling's residence came and knocked on the gate. A line of young ladies from the Shang family respectfully invited their little aunt and young cousin back home. Looking at the seven cousins, dressed in light armor and full of valiant spirit, the sickly Fang Jinling could only gape in astonishment. His mother, the marquis's wife, no, the grand-aunt of the Marquis of Xiling's household, took a sword and pointed it at the Marquis of Yunyang's nose. "From now on, Jinling's surname is Shang." * The Seventh Prince, Liu Ke, was born in sin and had given up on himself. He became a shameless troublemaker who bullied chickens and dogs, knew nothing of yielding or humility, and spent his days acting like a fool. But who could have guessed that after meeting the young master of the Shang family, he'd bolt down the path to reform, willingly developing himself in every way: morally, intellectually, physically, aesthetically, and through labor? After lying low for eight years, the Seventh Prince returned to the capital, defeated his brothers, killed the emperor and his father, and ascended the throne. The next day, his surviving brothers received the first imperial decree in fear and trembling: Have more children and cause less trouble. Seeking favorites for my upcoming historical BL novel, The Little Childhood Friend Is a Skilled Fighter Pei Yuexing descended from Mount Cangshan alone, carrying a sword and two letters. One was from his father, saying he was gravely ill and had little time left. The other was from the older boy next door he'd once had a crush on, saying he'd broken his leg and become disabled. Both wanted to see him. The older boy wasn't doing well. His letter recounted all the bitterness of being unloved by his father and mother and persecuted by his brothers over the years. Now he also faced the prospect of being driven out of his home. Pei Yuexing's heart ached for him, and he wished he could fly over at once to comfort him. But in the end, he chose to see his father first. Although this father had abandoned his wife and child to climb the social ladder and was a complete scumbag, he was about to die... Pei Yuexing had to fight for the family fortune. After all, the older boy had nothing, and was poor and disabled. If he didn't have enough money, how could he support him? But when Pei Yuexing reached the capital, he learned that his scumbag father had lied to him! The older boy had lied to him too! * Prince Zhao commanded a mighty army. The new ruler had used his power to ascend the throne, only to turn around and try to kill him. Prince Zhao saw through the plot. The officials begged for mercy, and the Empress Dowager threatened to take her own life. Out of regard for their having the same mother, Prince Zhao let the matter go, but intended to take the legitimate eldest sons of every official of first rank or higher under his control as leverage. The scumbag father happened to be a first-rank official and an assistant grand secretary. Pei Yuexing planned to take the older boy and run away, but the man before him holding the keepsake was the blasted Prince Zhao, tall and imposing, with the manners of a gentleman! Without another word, he turned and left with his sword, ready to get away from those two troublesome men. But somehow, word got around that a highly skilled martial artist wanted to enact justice on behalf of Heaven and assassinate Prince Zhao... That night, the captain of the guards looked at Prince Zhao drinking wine and admiring the moon in a pavilion, while assassins stirred all around them. He wanted nothing more than to curse. "Your Highness, what exactly are you waiting for?" Xuan Chen: "For someone to come back and break my leg." Theme: Uphold justice and bring peace to the realm.
