I Came Back After My Scumbag Ex Found a Substitute

Jiang Wanshuang and Gu Tingzhou were the enviable couple of high society.

As the first heir to the Gu financial conglomerate, Gu Tingzhou doted on Miss Jiang in every way. In business, however, he was ruthless and decisive. Everyone said he was madly in love with her.

Jiang Wanshuang thought so too, until the day she returned to China and her boyfriend, who had promised to pick her up, never showed.

It turned out that during the years she had spent studying abroad, a girl had entered Gu Tingzhou's life.

She looked six or seven parts like Jiang Wanshuang and had stayed by the man's side as her "substitute." Meng Yinyin, who came from a poor family, had initially agreed to take the job for money, but fell for her benefactor along the way. So when she heard the real deal was coming back, she stormed off in a huff.

Gu Tingzhou went after her. That made Jiang Wanshuang the real fool.

Miss Jiang was gentle and easily swayed, so friends and family urged her to make up with him and give Gu Tingzhou another chance.

Only Gu Tingzhou's "good brother," the young master of the richest family in the country, stood in front of the humiliated Miss Jiang, shielding her from everyone's gossip and prying eyes.

Yu Ran: "If you have something to ask, ask me. Let my fiancee rest for a while."

Everyone: ???

The next day, Gu Tingzhou hurried over after wrapping up his melodramatic, painful romance with his substitute. He thought Shuangshuang was reasonable and wouldn't break up with him over a little misunderstanding.

But he couldn't even get through the Jiang family's front gate before his good brother, waiting outside, handed him an engagement invitation.

Yu Ran: "Azhou, I've had a crush on her for sixteen years. I really owe you one."

* Male lead: Yu Ran. The second male lead gets a groveling-after-his-ex arc, with a bad ending.

* For fans of over-the-top wish fulfillment.
