[Classic Literature Crossover] Becoming a Literary Master in Republican-Era Classics

After transmigrating into the Republican-era literary world created by Mr. Cao Yu, specifically the classic play Sunrise, Lu Lin finds herself as “Little Thing,” a prostitute beaten half to death for refusing to serve clients. Covered in injuries, Lu Lin hides in a corner of the social butterfly Chen Bailu’s home and laughs bitterly.

In the original play Sunrise, the heroine Chen Bailu is just as her name suggests: after her wealthy patron Pan Yueting goes bankrupt, she vanishes like morning dew after sunrise. Little Thing, whom Chen Bailu had sheltered, also dies young, taking her own life in a low-class brothel while Chen Bailu is powerless to help.

The play was always a tragedy set in the old society. Even with the light of “sunrise,” it comes too late to reach the hopeless, fallen social butterfly or Little Thing, who does not want to sell her body just to struggle on.

“But I came into this world to see the sun.”

The heroine is incredibly cool, beautiful, and powerful!

She is a clearheaded, rational adult, with a golden finger that lets her know the plot. The story focuses on her career and on finding friendship and family affection. The actual male lead appears late; all the earlier romantic interests are passing figures.

This novel is set against the backdrop of Republican-era classics and combines partial literary plagiarism with a cultural and creative industries storyline. It therefore takes considerable liberties with modern literary history. Some literary giants and writers do not exist here, but this is not an attempt to erase history! The history of the founding leaders will not be altered! You can enjoy the story without having read the original works!

This story combines literary works such as Sunrise, Thunderstorm, Half a Lifelong Romance, Midnight, The Story of a Noble Family, and The Golden Cangue. The plots have been altered to a certain extent to blend them together.

I have always regretted that there are so many fan fictions based on European works such as Pride and Prejudice and The Phantom of the Opera, yet I could not find fan fiction set against the backdrop of Chinese literature. Perhaps the influence of screen adaptations in this area has hindered their spread.

This is a crossover fan fiction, so it inevitably contains plenty of the author's personal opinions and interpretations (my reading comprehension has always taken some unusual turns). I hope we can agree to disagree.
