When he was ten, he watched his parents leave. From then on, he never heard from them again.
At the orphanage, where he refused to interact with anyone, he met a girl who was just as withdrawn as he was.
To his surprise, the little girl, who was half a head shorter than him, was willing to speak to someone first for the very first time.
"Here, this is for you." She had secretly picked a forgetfulness flower planted by the director and given it to him.
As it turned out, from then on he forgot his worries, while she forgot him.
Later, he asked her, "Little one, why were you willing to talk to me, of all people?"
Her little face flushed red. Usually so cool, she was unexpectedly bashful now. "Because... because you're handsome."
Many years later, he finally found her again, but she had long since forgotten him completely.
"Who are you?" Her words made his heart sink. He slowly drew back the hand that had been about to touch her hair.
It was all right. As long as she was happy, what did it matter if she didn't remember him?
He thought that was how things would stay.
But beneath the brilliant sunset that day, just as they were about to part, she suddenly rose onto her toes and kissed him lightly on the cheek.
He asked in surprise, "W-why did you kiss me?"
She awkwardly turned her face away, her cheeks tinged red. "Because... because you're handsome."
He looked at her quietly, as if a gentle breeze had brushed across his heart, and laughed silently.
When she woke from a deep sleep, she had lost all her memories. Life had to go on, and she thought everything would gradually get back on track. But everything around her that seemed ordinary was actually a carefully crafted lie.
She had no choice but to painstakingly unravel the clues and search for the truth.
Little did she know, the investigation would not only uncover an enemy, but make her lose her identity too.
What? She wasn't really "herself"? And not only that, it seemed the whole world wanted her dead.
I'm just an ordinary person, working hard at my job and barely scraping by. I don't need this VIP treatment, do I?
The one thing worth celebrating, though, was that the investigation had also turned up... um... a boyfriend...
