Not a single person on either side survived. A tragic end indeed.
Lei Ben, a sixteen-year-old girl raised in Anping Town, Anping County, is innocent, cheerful, helpful, and devoted to her parents. One day, while out buying soy sauce for her father, Lei Youkuan, she is swept by the hurricane twenty li away to the outskirts of the city. She lands hard and is left dazed. Overcome with panic, he dies on the spot. Lei Ben hears him say only, “Take this to... the manor,” before he breathes his last.
The many princes who covet the throne are also intensely interested in the Phoenix Secret Manual. Hoping to learn their father's thoughts and seize the throne, they each secretly send experts to obtain it. Sixth Prince Meng Bifei becomes an unfortunate scapegoat, framed as an unfilial son who sent assassins after Meng Long. To save his life, Meng Bifei disguises himself, trading his status as a noble prince for that of a commoner fleeing for his life. At the crossroads of fate, the two unexpectedly meet.
