The human world is at once near and far to me.
I can take root on the ground, yet drift like an unbound cloud, float like a boat with no mooring.
Everyone carries or bears their own life, drifting through the darkness.
Some run about, crying out. Some sink into despair. Some hesitate and lament. Some never see their ambitions fulfilled.
I cup a tiny flame close to my heart and wander the world, searching for someone who may not even exist.
Little do I know... Among the countless passersby, the silent figure standing where the lights grow dim will turn out to be where I belong for the rest of my life.
"Everyone has a fire in their heart. Those who pass by can only see the smoke. But there will always be someone who sees that fire, comes over, and stays with me.
In the crowd, I saw his fire, and hurried toward him, afraid that if I was too slow, he would be lost in the dust of time. Carrying my passion, my coldness, my fury, my gentleness, and my irrational faith in love, I ran until I was out of breath.
Stammering, I asked him, 'What's your name?' It all began with those words, and from there, everything followed."
