The Furnace Reborn to Cultivate the Path of Ruthlessness

*

Yan Shiwan died.

His meridians were shattered, his cultivation destroyed, and he died with his eyes wide open.

At first, his family gave him to an immortal lord as a plaything to protect themselves, and he was treated with contempt and humiliation.

Qi Yuanhan rescued him. He fell into the man's embrace, mistaking the burning pain the man branded onto his tailbone in the heat of passion for love.

When he finally awoke from that beautiful dream, he realized he was still crawling through the mire, while Qi Yuanhan looked down at him from on high, as if gazing at an insect.

He had only ever been Qi Yuanhan's cultivation furnace.

Qi Yuanhan had helped him stand, only to break his backbone with his own hands.

After being reborn, Yan Shiwan severed his ties to love and cultivated the Way of Ruthlessness.

His father and younger brother wanted him to come home.

Home meant attachment, and those who cultivated the Way of Ruthlessness had to sever all attachments.

The immortal lord apologized and repented, saying that all the humiliation he had inflicted on Yan Shiwan came from loving him but being unable to have him.

Those who cultivated the Way of Ruthlessness ignored old grievances and forgot the mortal world.

At last, he also heard Qi Yuanhan say that he loved him, swearing that from then on they would cultivate the Great Way together and stay by each other's side in life and death.

But he didn't want that anymore.
