A million years ago, a long and devastating civil war among the gods brought about the collapse of the divine realm, and the divine race was ultimately shattered. The surviving gods had no choice but to descend into the human world, where they split into three factions: those who ruled the seas and kept out of worldly affairs were called the Yujiao; those who created their own illusions and fought bravely were called the Feiling; and those who seized human lands and crowned themselves kings were called the Xuanyi. The three clans made a pact: never to unite, never to invade one another, never to fall into demonic ways, and never to marry humans.
Two hundred years ago, however, the Feiling and Xuanyi clans abandoned the pact and married humans. Their half-human, half-divine children all fell uncontrollably into demonic ways, eventually giving rise to the monstrous race known as the Shahan, which brought disaster upon the world.
Over the next two centuries, infighting kept the Xuanyi clan from uniting, splitting it into many kingdoms that waged war against one another. The demonic cult Shaying Hantian arose, bringing suffering to all living things. The Feiling clan endured one calamity after another and came close to extinction... Twenty years ago, two newborns with extraordinary identities came into the world, one after the other. One was adopted by the leader of Lingcang Garden, the greatest sect in the martial world, while the other disappeared without a trace. In this age of chaos, the future of both humans and gods will be profoundly changed by the different paths these two children take.
